When activated, the easyRESCUE-PRO rescue transmitter triggers an alarm in the AIS system as well as in the DSC GMDSS emergency call system. For your own personal safety, you can use all the advantages of both technologies in one device. Because in an emergency, every second counts!
The rescue transmitter easyRESCUE-PRO (BT) has an integrated Bluetooth - LE module. This enables up to 8 different MMSI numbers to be programmed into the rescue transmitter quickly and easily. The easyRESCUE-PRO is a further development of the easyRESCUE (AIS S.A.R.T.), which is approved for sea rescue and certified by SOLAS. The easyRESCUE-PRO also has the alarm technology: DSC "distress call" (MOB).
Thanks to the DSC functionality used, it is also possible for ships that only have one DSC controller on board to receive the emergency signal of an accident victim and to find out their current position. This significantly increases the number of potential first aiders for the "man overboard" victim and, of course, their chances of survival.
When triggered, the device sends an AIS telegram which can be received by all AIS devices (Class A and Class B) within a radius of up to 10 and more nautical miles (depending on the height of the receiving antenna). Before this, a DSC “distress call” was sent, but initially in a so-called “closed loop” to the own ship. The transmission range of the DSC is similar to that of AIS. If the DSC emergency call received is confirmed by your own ship, the easyRESCUE-PRO will end the DSC transmissions. However, if there is no confirmation from your own ship within 10 (5) minutes, the so-called "DSC open loop" (all-ships call) will be used. Here, DSC devices within transmission range can receive this “distress call”, confirm it or, depending on the device class, forward it to other ships or to a coastal radio station. In this way, a distant rescue organization (MRCC) can also be informed. At the same time, the AIS position report is continuously transmitted until the device is switched off.
In addition to displaying the exact distress position on the AIS chart plotter or PC screen, the exact coordinates are also displayed on the DSC controller.
